Happy Wednesday!
For those who are new, this series is dedicated to early stage startups from LatAm that are under the radar – and have a good story to tell. I send it out every other Wednesday (sometimes every week)- and it is separate from my traditional weekly newsletter.
The basic criteria is a company that is not on the spotlight and is NOT actively raising proceeds. There is also no bias – apart from the fact that I like the story. I am not an investor or get any financial compensation to promote startups featured. This is intended for informational purposes only, using my solid base of subscribers to share intel of good people doing cool things, thus fostering the ecosystem.
Since launch, featured startups in aggregate were connected 102 times, to 45 different investors/strategic partners/companies globally.
Finally, if you are a founder and want to be considered for this series - it is very simple:
Please fill out a one-pager, in English, about your company using the topics and themes outlined in the posts. Please write it in 3rd person.
Reply to this e-mail with your one-pager attached.
I will review and reach out if I need more information.
It will be posted if I believe the startup fills the profile and audience of this newsletter.
Good Luck!!!!!!

Liti: Your health co-pilot
Liti is your health co-pilot, providing you with the super powers needed to completely transform your health. Based on the health 3.0 concept, it guides its customers to improve their health habits, directed especially to food and exercise. As a consequence, people can achieve a health span - living a more fullfilling life.
This journey is founded on dietary protocols, created under the guidance of sports medicine specialists, food as medicine experts, and co-founder Eduardo Rauen MD. Rauen brings over two decades of experience in the field to these protocols. The knowledge of his team is enhanced by technology, enabling them to scale and support individuals across more than 183 cities.
The company is committed to helping individuals maintain a balanced lifestyle by providing comprehensive support. This includes a welcome kit that contains a bioimpedance scale developed by the company. Users are also closely monitored by a multidisciplinary medical team comprising doctors, nutritionists, and behavioral scientists. To have a collective support on their individual journeys, they can also join different communities where people share recipes, workout tips, experiences with family and kids, among other topics.
Business Overview
Founded in 2022 by executive Fernando Vilela and sports medicine and nutrition specialist Eduardo Rauen, Liti emerged from their unique relationship as doctor and patient. Together, they devised a scalable method to share Rauen's extensive knowledge in the field.
The company announced in November 2022 a US$4 million Seed round, led by Monashees and followed by the Canary and Latitud funds. Investors also include Rappi's founders (Sebastian Mejia and Simón Borrero), and JHSF's president, José Auriemo Neto.
Liti's highly scalable business model has enabled them to grow their user base by 3.7x last year - spreading their reach to over 183 cities in 18 countries.
In a journey towards a healthier lifestyle, the first key metric we see is weight loss - and Liti has already helped users accomplish impressive results: an average body weight loss that can get up to 6.7% in the first month, which can go as high as 8.9% in the three initial months.
The company's support system has proven its effectiveness based on the close relationship Liti has built with its customer base - achieving a 45% daily engagement rate.
The Services
Liti's behavioral health solution integrates technology with human care to guide individuals through lifestyle changes. The monitoring process occurs remotely through periodic teleconsultations with a multidisciplinary health team, including medical professionals, nutritionists and behavioral scientists
Clinical progress is tracked using a bioimpedance scale sent to the client's home, recommended for daily use. The health team has real-time access to this data, and empowered by AI algorithms they provide assertive and pro-active care, customized to each customer's needs. In addition to body composition measurements, users are asked to provide photos of their bodies at the beginning of the journey, relevant blood and imaging tests, and abdominal circumference measurements.
All customer information related to body composition is automatically transferred from the scale to the Liti app. This data may be supplemented with assessments of dietary habits, sleep, mood, bowel habits, and exercise routines through the "habit tracker," enabling real-time monitoring.
